LSP’s first primary care development on site in Wales is progressing well at Gelligaer, with the building contractor OPCO currently on programme to complete the new primary care facility in May 2012. The new development has been well received within the local community, to which it will serve.
Furthermore, LSP in conjunction with Assura are in the final stages of the procurement of the new primary care centre for Milford Haven. The scheme is now unconditional with OPCO appointed to build the facility which will take approximately 12 months to complete. It will comprise a gross internal area of just over 2000 sqm, housing the Barlow House and Robert Street Practices and an element of LHB accommodation. There will also be an integral pharmacy to be operated by Cohens.
More good news is that the Welsh Assembly Government have approved the bid for the proposed new primary care and community centre in Blaenavon. This is an Assura led project, to which LSP are the development partner, responsible for delivering the new facility. The news is testament to the hard work put in by all the stakeholders. The new facility will comprise a gross internal area of approximately 2000 sqm, providing accommodation for the Local Health Board, Torfaen Council and the reprovision of the existing Carreg Wen Surgery. There will also be an integral pharmacy, together with 55 car spaces. The proposed development is adjacent to the new Blaenavon Primary School, which is currently under construction and due for completion in spring 2012.
